Pramod Kumar Gothi, born in December 1949, is a gold medalist in Engineering from IIT, Roorkee, 1971 batch.
He possesses more than 38 years of work experience in diversified industries. Out of this 25 years have been as Managing Director/ CEO.
His key strengths have been in setting up green field projects and turning them into profitable ventures and also, turning around loss-making companies; the last among these is Morarjee Textiles. He has also been instrumental in setting up joint ventures and entering into technical collaborations with Italian, German, French and Japanese companies.
Recently, he has founded NorthStar Advisors (www.ns-advisors.com) to embark on his new career of mentoring and coaching entrepreneurs/ CEO. He is a trained executive and business coach and has successfully completed Core Essentials Graduate Programme accredited to International Coaching Federation.
His previous experience includes holding senior management positions with reputed companies such as Hindustan Copper Ltd. (5 years), Hindustan Electro-graphite (5 years) and Carbon Corporation (4 years). In 1985, he joined Piramal Enterprises, where he spent 25 years working with group companies across sectors. He started with G.P. Electronics as Executive Director and pioneered a successful greenfield project. Subsequently, he moved to Miranda Tools as Executive Director and under his guidance the company turned around into a profitable enterprise.
Later he moved to the Piramal Enterprises Corporate office as President wherein he undertook the assignment of long term strategic planning for the Textile Division along with McKinsey & Co.  For the joint ventures at Morarjee, he undertook partner search and selected reputed Italian textile companies as partner
Subsequently, he headed the Textile division of the Piramal Group as Managing Director, Morarjee Textiles (formerly Morarjee Goculdas Spg. & Wvg. Co. Ltd.) till Dec.09. He successfully led the team in turning around the company into a profitable niche textile venture.  He continues to be on the board of the company.
Mr. Gothi holds various positions in many organizations. Some of these are:

• Chairman of Mill Owner’s Association (MOA)
• Member of the CII National Committee on Textiles
• Board member of Pan-IIT
• Member of the executive committee of Confederation of Indian Textile Industry
• Board member of the Governing Council of The Bombay Textile Research Association (BTRA)

Apart from his professional career he is also a keen sportsman. He was university champion of table tennis, and has represented his University in table tennis and squash.
