Mr. Ramesh Shah grew up in Adoni, a small village in Andhra Pradesh, and graduated with a BSc (Honors) degree. His first milestone was setting up a small wholesale textile business in the highly competitive and traditional market of Chickpet, Bangalore.

Through hard work and passion, he turned his business, RK Group (founded in 1980 with a single employee) into a successful conglomerate, which today has 275 employees, and has expanded into retail, distribution, health care and angel funding. Mr. Shah is also currently one of the largest distributors of Nokia in Karnataka. RK Group achieved a turnover of more than INR 2.75 billion last year.

Apart from his business, Mr. Shah is also a philanthropist, and has grown the non profitable trust, Premchand Manaji Trust, founded by his father, for cancer patients.

After having worked for 26 years,
Mr Shah went on to fulfill his lifelong dream of attending HBS.
He completed his graduation in 2009 from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Shah is an avid traveler, having travelled over 30 countries. He enjoys playing tennis and learning languages. His life’s purpose is to make difference in people’s lives in his own small way.
